The 4WD Courses introduces participants to the fundamentals of 4 wheel driving.

The objective is to demonstrate the safe operation of a 4WD vehicle and to demonstrate 4WD skills in adverse conditions.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a "Certificate of Competency" in four-wheel drive operation.

• Loading vehicles
• When to use 4WD
• 4WD operation
• Braking techniques and skid control
• Driving up and down and stopping on steep slopes
• Driving in sand, mud and over rocks
• Water Crossings
• Basic vehicle maintenance, e.g. fan belts, changing tyres
• Vehicle recovery, winching, dead man
• Vehicle accessories
• Environmental awareness
• OH&S
