CLASS C TO CLASS MR DRIVER TRAINING
This
class of licence will allow you to drive a vehicle with a
Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of up to 15,000kg and tow a trailer
with a GVM up to 9,000kg
If you have held a Class C licence for at least 1 year, you
can undertake driver training in a light truck using the logbook
system, or if preferred, through lessons followed by a test.
After the first two lessons, your instructor is in a better
position to more accurately assess your skill level and advise
on further training requirements.
As a guide, we have found from our
prior experience, the average minimum practical hours required
to successfully complete your MR licence, is around 10 - 12 hours.
If you wish to have lessons or require any further information,
feel free to contact our office by email or phone and we will
assist you in any way possible.
Important note: - There is
no longer a requirement to have a learners permit to upgrade
your drivers licence to this level, however you must meet
the miniumum driving experience according to Regulations under
the Motor Vehicle Act. If you are unsure that you meet the
requirements, you will need to seek advice from the Department for Transport, Energy and Intrastructure (formally Transport
SA) Customer Service Centre.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the requirements
as you may find that Department for Transport, Energy and Intrastructure (formally Transport
SA) will not upgrade your licence,
even if you have passed your driver training and assessment.
